A Zanzibarian rasta with a
love for water (he does the snorkelling trips, food and reggae music – and
who is so laid-back that he should be horizontal – that’s Lau.
Born in Stone Town, Lau spent many years working in hotels
around the island before he decided to settle in Jambiani where he joined the
Jambiani Tourism Training Institute in 2010.
Throughout his studies, he carried on working in the hospitality industry,
fine-tuning his service and cooking skills, while also taking tourists on
trips.
After finishing his tour guiding course at the Kawa Training Centre, he is keen to show visitors the island
in his own style – relaxed and full of fun, while keeping it professional. If
he is not on a tour, you will see him hanging out with his friends on the football
pitch, coaching his own team - the Mambo Poa Boys - or building a home for his daughter in Jambiani/Mfumbwi.
